FAQ

Copywriting is writing that gets people to do something. You might want someone to opt-in to your email list, buy a product, or sign up for your services. Copywriting always has a call to action (CTA) and is writing that doesn’t just inform, but inspires action. It is also a form of marketing.

SEO stands for search engine optimization. It’s what ranks you in a Google search. The stronger your SEO, the higher you’ll rank in Google. SEO is complex and has many moving pieces, but essentially what you need to know is that your website copy, which should include blogs, opt-ins, and sales pages, should be well-optimized for SEO. Investing in SEO-optimized copy pays off in the long run, unlike paid ads, because you only pay once for something that works 24 hours a day.

Blogs are a great way to connect with your potential AND existing clients. They’re a way to offer resources to your audience online, which is how many people find you. And just as importantly, they boost your SEO if you post consistently. A well-written blog over 1000 words posted at least 4 times a month will do wonders for your SEO, as long as your posts are relevant and well-optimized.

For a one-time project, I require a 50% payment upfront. The rest is due upon submission of the first draft. Retainers and bundles are negotiated based on the scope of the project and agreed upon between us. Payment for a monthly retainer or bundle is due at the beginning of the month.

It depends on the project, but generally, there is a 1-2 week turnaround. This is to ensure that I produce quality work for you while also attending to my other clients and producing quality work for them.

Included in your payment for a project are two rounds of edits on all projects except Psychology Today profiles (one round of edits for those). The usual turnaround time for edits is 1 business day, but that could vary depending on the scope of the project.

Once you schedule a free consultation, we’ll get on a Zoom call for about 30 minutes. We’ll talk about your goals, your ideal client, your pain points, and how we could work together. Then, if you want to move forward, we’ll do a test project of your choosing. You’ll give me prompts, topics, and any and all ideas you have for the project, and then I’ll write the piece, send it to you in a Google doc within 1-2 weeks for a2 rounds of edits, and then submit the final piece to you within 1 business day of the completion of your edits. After that test project, if we’re a good fit, we’ll hop another call to discuss the strategy for moving forward.

Copywriters write differently than authors and other types of writers. Copywriters aren’t just writers, they’re marketers, and they know how to write copy that gets you results. Additionally, hiring a copywriter takes the burden of writing off your plate so that you can focus on your clients and your practice.

There’s a lot that goes into writing good copy for therapists. Research, SEO-optimization, plus the writing itself takes time. You’re paying for quality writing but also well-researched copy that boosts your SEO. Even if you already have some copy written, it takes skill and time to craft the final piece into something that will work for you. Not to mention, I’m a former therapist, so I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table when I write for therapists.
